    Labels and markers

The labels on every change and row, and the few markers a number gets when it isn't a plain reading.

    Roles#

    LabelMeans
    YoursYour brand's product.
    RivalA rival product you watch.
    Store brandThe retailer's own label.

    Scope: where a change happened#

    LabelMeansHow to read it
NationalMost of the chain's stores moved the same day. For a price or promo, that's nine in ten stores, in two or more states or regions. For stock or ranging, it's more than half the stores.Usually a head-office decision. Worth a call to your buyer.
A state or region: "WA only", "NSW, ACT", "Auckland, Wellington"Only those states or regions moved.A regional price, promo or allocation.
A store's name, such as "IGA Glenelg"One store moved on its own.Often noise. Hide these with Hide single-store moves.

    High priority#

    New brand#

New brand marks a brand selling in your category at Coles for the first time. See New in your categories.

    Markers on a number#

A plain number was read directly. A number gets a small dashed marker only when it's an exception. Hover over the marker (or focus it) for a one-line explanation.

    inferred#

inferred: the value wasn't read directly. On a total, it means more than half of the stores behind it weren't read directly. On one store's value, it means that store's wasn't. We only fill in values we can stand behind, and mark them so you know. See Observed and inferred numbers.

Coles, Woolworths and ALDI prices aren't marked: those chains set prices by zone, and each store has its zone's price. The page says so once, in a line such as "Coles, Woolworths and ALDI price by zone: each store has its zone's price."

    No "stale" marker#

A number is never marked as old on its own. When a check is late, the page's stamp turns amber and names any chain that's behind, once for the whole page. See Stamps on a page.

    unknown#

unknown, or a "—" instead of a number: we have no reading we can stand behind. We show nothing rather than a guess.

    Stamps on a page#

    StampMeans
"Checked today 06:10"When the page's numbers were last brought up to date.
Amber "Checked 28 Sep 06:10"A check was missed. The numbers are from the last one that finished.
(provisional)The day was built late, so a change may show a day late.
"New World as of 11 Oct"One of your chains is behind the rest. Its numbers are as of that day.
"2 chains behind"More than one of your chains is behind. Hover over it for each one's day.
Dotted lines on a chartDays where a change may show a day late.

    See Freshness.
