    Changelog

What changed in Cannonball, newest first: new features, fixes and new docs pages, each linked to the page that explains it.

    14 October 2026#

    • The free beta. A few brands use Cannonball free, by personal invitation: everything in Growth with every retailer group, no trial countdown, and a Feedback link in the header that goes straight to Willem. See The free beta.
    • Agencies: All clients ranks your clients. The client that needs you most this week comes first, by its Home's findings, with its shelf gaps, promos without the promo price, stores to fix and alerts. See All clients.
    • Agencies: monthly client reports. A PDF per client in your branding: the last 4 weeks at every chain it's at. Download it from All clients, or have the links emailed on the 1st. See Monthly client reports.
    • Launch tracker and ranging record. Two new pages from Products. The launch tracker follows a new product's rollout at a chain day by day, by state, with its first price and promo, stock and rival launches in the category (on Growth and up), against a target you set (such as 800 Coles stores by week 6). The ranging record is a dated record of where each of your products was ranged and delisted, by chain and state, to take to a buyer, with CSVs.
    • Against rivals and at other chains. A product's page now sets it beside the rivals you watch at the same chain, the chain's house brand and the same product at the other chains: price per unit where the packs allow a fair comparison, this week's promo, and ranging and stock against a rival at the stores where both are read. Anything not measured the same way isn't compared, and the page says why. See Product page.
    • Stores to fix. A new page under Stores: today's stores for your field reps, most urgent first, by state, with what to fix at each (a promo not running, an empty shelf, a product dropped or no longer ranged), a route through a territory and a CSV for your rep app. See Stores to fix.
    • Did the other chain follow? Under a chain's price rise, cut or promo start on What changed and Home, and on the product page: whether the same product at the other chains moved the same way within 14 days, when, and by how much. Two new alerts: "Its price moves at another chain" and "Another chain follows its price move". See See whether the other chain followed a price move.
    • Buyer meeting pack. From Products: a deck for your meeting with one chain's buyer, your ranging, stock, promos and prices there and how you stand against your rivals, one finding per slide with its chart and source. PowerPoint or PDF, with your agency's name and logo if an agency looks after your brand (its alone under white label). See Buyer meeting pack.
    • Re-listings aren't launches. A product Coles lists again under a new code (renamed, or in a new size) is shown under "Re-listed, not launched" on the launch tracker, not as a launch, and isn't counted as an arrival in New in your categories. See Launch tracker.
    • Rival prices over time and by state. A product's page now charts its shelf price beside the rivals you watch at the same chain, and each row there has Price by state where the chain prices store by store: both prices in each state, at the stores where both are priced. See Product page.
    • One count of drops. Home's This week, the weekly Shelf Brief and All clients now say a product was dropped from stores only as Shelf gaps counts it: the stores that dropped it this week and don't range it now, the same stores See the N stores opens. What changed narrowed to a state answers "did the other chain follow" for that state. See Did the other chain follow.
    • Promo week. A new page in the menu: what's on promo for you and your rivals at each chain this promo week against last, and whether each of your promos reached the shelf: where it runs, and the stores without the promo price, out of stock or not ranging it. See Promo week.

    13 October 2026#

    • Shelf gaps. A new page under Stores, at Coles: products leaving the range, store wave by store wave, as an early warning of a delisting, and your products that are listed but empty, with how long and where. See Shelf gaps.
    • Alerts on your whole range and your rivals. New alert sets one rule on any of your products or any rival you watch, at one chain and in one state if you like. Rival rules: a promo starts, a price cut of X% or more, added to or dropped from stores. Three one-click rules on the Alerts page, on every plan. Everything that fires overnight comes in one email at 7:00. See Alerts.

    Small fixes.

    • Ask answers each currency on its own. A price question over products in Australia and New Zealand, with no chain named, gives the Australian chains' prices in $ and the New Zealand chains' in NZ$, never one number. See Ask.
    • Search quick answers name a New Zealand region in full ("in Auckland"), and "our price at Coles" lists your own products' prices, never your rivals'. See Search and quick answers.
    • In stock on Home says "Not read at IGA" when none of your chains reads store stock. See Metrics.
    • Agencies. On an agency's own address, a refused sign-in names the agency, not Cannonball.
    • Retailer groups list only chains we read: First Choice and Vintage Cellars aren't collected yet. See Plans.

    9 October 2026, evening#

Calmer pages, Ask in the menu, and a quicker set-up.

    • Home says each move once. A promo that ran in 16 price zones is one change, "went on promo at 454 of 532 IGA stores", with its zones a click away. Dismiss hides all of it. "See all N changes" opens What changed for the same week, and the Home CSV is a table, a row per change. See Home.
    • Markers only for exceptions. No number is marked "stale" any more: a late check turns the page's stamp amber, once. Coles, Woolworths and ALDI prices aren't marked "inferred", since those chains price by zone, and a line on each page says what each chain reads. Cells a chain doesn't read show "—". See Labels and markers.
    • Ask is in the menu, for every brand, and G then A opens it. See Ask.
    • Set-up. Brands match whole words, a line says which chains we read today, and suggested rivals are the same kind and pack size. See Quickstart.
    • Add a whole brand. On Add products, search a brand and add all of it, as yours or as rivals, in one click. See Add products.
    • Agencies can have 5 client brands on trial at once. See Agency workspace.

    9 October 2026#

Ask, quick answers in search, and a long list of fixes from a week of checking every number.

    • Ask is here. Ask a question about your shelf in plain words, from search or at Ask, and get one sentence, a chart or a table, and what it means. Unlimited on every plan, under fair use. See Ask.
    • Quick answers in search. Type "out of stock in WA", "Coles promos this week" or "stores near 2000", and the first result answers it in a line and opens the list behind it. Its count always matches the list it opens. See Search and quick answers.
    • What changed, narrowed. A search answer opens What changed narrowed to what it counted: a chain, a state or region, promos or drops, yours or your rivals'. Show every change clears it. See What changed.
    • NZ$ everywhere. A New Zealand product's price reads NZ$ in search and Ask too, and Ask never puts A$ and NZ$ in one number. See New Zealand.
    • IGA stock says "Not read". IGA lists only what each store sells, so its stock is no longer shown as 100% in stock, and IGA has no out-of-stock alert. See Chains and coverage.
    • Territories. Postcodes are read in your brand's own country, and a range typed "2000 - 2234" or with a dash is one range. Add stores keeps any store numbers past 200 in the box for the next add. See Work a rep's territory.
    • Stores that changed counts from no earlier than the first day your plan or the chain's data allows. See Stores that changed.
    • Team. Approving someone who already has an invitation moves them into its seat, and stepping yourself down to member has no Undo. See Team and roles.
    • Agencies. On an agency's own address, sign-in and invitation links work only there, and a resold brand's plan is set by its agency. See White label.
    • Alerts check every change since a rule's last check, never only the biggest.
    • New pages in these docs: Ask, Search, Choose your products and rivals, Work a rep's territory, Find what changed since a day, White label, New Zealand, Emails we send, Glossary and Troubleshooting.

    8 October 2026#

My stores, territories and a map on Stores, and more chains from 10 October.

    • My stores. Star a store with Add to My stores, or paste store numbers with Add stores, then turn on My stores to see only yours. See My stores, territory and map.
    • Territory and map. Narrow Stores to a rep's postcodes with Territory (postcodes), and see the list on a map with Show on a map, on every plan.
    • Ranging history on paper. Your own product's PDF adds its ranging history, a row a week (further apart on a long range). See Export.
    • "Not read", said plainly. Where a chain doesn't read a number, the app says so instead of showing a zero, and an alert rule is only offered where it can fire. See Chains and coverage.
    • More chains from 10 October: the NZ supermarkets, Chemist Warehouse, Dan Murphy's, BWS, Liquorland, Bunnings and Mitre 10. See From 10 October 2026.

    7 October 2026#

A page for every store, the stores behind each change, team management, agency workspace, and these docs.

    • Stores opens on your chains, problem stores first. Choose All chains for every store. See Stores.
    • Search everything. The search bar on every page (or ⌘/Ctrl then K) finds products on every shelf we read, brands, stores, categories, your alerts and team, pages and actions. See Search.
    • Help in the app. A "?" beside each page title and key number opens its docs section, and Help and docs is in your menu.
    • Store page. Click a store on Stores to see every product you watch there: in stock or out and for how long, ranged or not, price and promotion. See Store page.
    • Stores that changed. Stores lists the stores that dropped you, added you, went out of stock, came back, or changed promo or price since a day you choose. See Stores that changed.
    • Act on a Home change. Each change offers, where they apply, See the stores, Export the stores (CSV), Set an alert for this and Open the product. See Act on a change.
    • Stores CSV says where each store is: store number, and postcode, latitude and longitude where we have them, and a second file with one row per product at each store. See Export the list.
    • Run your team. Owners and admins change roles and remove people, with Undo. Anyone but the last admin can leave. You set the name your team sees. An invitation link opens a page where one click joins. See Team and roles.
    • Range clusters at Coles, on a product's page on Growth and up: the groups of stores Coles ranges a category by, and where a rival is ranged and you aren't. See Range clusters.
    • What changed reads newest first, with the changes on top and the side-by-side table folded under them. See What changed.
    • Agency workspace. One sign-in across an agency's client brands, with All clients, Add client brand, resell or refer per client, and your logo on client PDFs. See Agency workspace.
    • New in your categories. What arrived on the shelf in your categories at Coles, on Growth and Enterprise. See New in your categories.
    • Company single sign-on for Enterprise, with SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect. See Sign-in and single sign-on.
    • Ask to join. Colleagues at your company's domain ask to join your brand, and an admin approves. See Team and roles.
    • Alerts say who set them, and only the person who set one, or an admin, can remove it. See Alerts.
    • Charts have Show as table, for screen readers and copying. See Product page.
    • Retailer groups on the Plans page, with the groups that have data. See Retailer groups.
    • Ask will be unlimited on every plan, under fair use, when it launches. See Ask.
    • These docs.

    6 October 2026#

Alerts, team invites, and a faster first week.

    • Alerts. Alert me on every product: out of stock, dropped from stores, a promo, or a price. One email per event. See Alerts.
    • Invite your team, or send a product to a colleague in one email. See Send to a colleague.
    • A shorter start. Sign-up finds your brand and products, then opens your product with the most stores out of stock. See Quickstart.
    • The trial and plans. 14 days of Growth with no card, then Paused, never deleted. See Trial and Paused.

    28 September to 5 October 2026#

History you can explore, and numbers that say what they don't know.

    • History. Product charts from 30 days to All, the Stores list as it stood on any past day your plan's history reaches, and What changed between any two days it reaches.
    • Ready for New Zealand. NZ$ prices and New Zealand regions, for the NZ supermarkets from 10 October. See Chains and coverage.
    • Honest coverage. Stores whose ranging we haven't read are counted apart, never as not ranged; In stock says when it's partial. See Metrics.
