What is a TPR (temporary price reduction)?

A TPR, or temporary price reduction, is a promotion that lowers a product's shelf price for a set period, after which it returns to the everyday price. In Australian supermarkets, specials, half-price weeks and 'was/now' prices are common TPRs.

TPR vs everyday low price

A TPR is temporary and usually funded at least partly by the supplier. An everyday low price is a permanent lower price. Telling them apart matters when you compare your price with a rival's.
